Professor Lyles to present Red Hot Research at The Commons, Friday, April 11

Ward Lyles, assistant professor of Urban Planning will present his current and future research directions at Red Hot Research, a program of The Commons on Friday, April 11, at 4:00 pm at The Commons. The program is part of the university’s Research Sharing Sessions.

In his four slide, six minute presentation he’ll define urban planning, and review his prior research on stakeholder networks and plan quality. After introducing the concept of “slow violence” and its relevance to sprawling development patterns, he’ll draw connections between development patterns, slow violence, and then urban heat-island effect as consequences of climate change.
